Program Highlights from the 2009 Statewide Transition Conference

Mat and Eric, 20 – year – old twins, discussed their transition journey with support from their mother. Their insight and experiences helped others explore creative "outside-the-box" strategies to address transition issues for youth with unique needs.

Enthusiastic presenters excited to share their presentation on how to use video iPods to promote independent functioning of individuals with developmental disabilities in vocational, community or home settings

Youth discussed their experiences moving from school to work, transitioning to independent living, leaving pediatric providers and obtaining adult-oriented health care; the changes in responsibilities, and provided feedback to peers, families, and professionals on ways to improve the transition process.
