Hotel Accomodations

The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center in Schaumburg, 25 miles from downtown Chicago, will be the host of the 2009 Illinois Statewide Transition Conference. The hotel and convention center offers 30 meeting rooms and over 148,000 square feet of technologically enhanced meeting space as well as 474 hotel rooms and 26 hotel suites. This smoke-free hotel allows service animals for persons with disabilities. A fitness center is available on-site that also features an indoor pool and whirlpool.

Hotel reservations can be made on the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center web site or by calling 1-847-303-4100. The Illinois Statewide Transition Conference has a block of rooms available at the room rate of $109.00 per night. Identify that you are attending the conference to receive the conference room rate. NOTE: The Group Code for the special conference hotel rate is: ILLILLA. Providing the group code when you register will ensure that you receive the special rate of $109 per night.

Complimentary on-site parking is provided for hotel guests. Hotel room amenities include a 32" flat panel HDTV with picture-in-picture and data/entertainment connectivity and both wired and wireless high speed Internet access. Check-in time is 4:00 pm and Check-out time is 12:00 noon.

The hotel offers dining at Sam & Harry's Steakhouse, serving sizzling steaks and the freshest seafood. Also on site is the Wintergarden Cafe, a coffee house that proudly offers hot and iced beverages, pastries, sandwiches and light salads, in addition to sundries and gifts. Both of these on-site eateries are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Indiana/Bloomington (from the East)

Take the ramp onto I-465 N/I-74 W.
Continue to follow I-465 N.
Take exit 20 on the left to merge onto I-65 N
Take exit 262 to merge onto I-90 W (partial toll road).
Entering Illinois
Take the IL-53 exit Follow signs for Algonquin Rd/IL-62
Turn right at Algonquin Rd/IL-62
Turn left at Thoreau Dr N

Take the ramp onto I-64 E/US-40 E.
Entering Illinois
Slight left at I-55 N/I-70 E/US-40 E (signs for Indianapolis/I-70/US-40/I-55/Chicago/Great River Rd).
Continue to follow I-55 N
Take the exit on the left onto I-55 N/I-74 W toward Chicago/Peoria/I-74
Continue to follow I-55 N Take exit 269 to merge onto I-355 N (partial toll road).
Continue on I-290 W
Take the IL-53/Algonquin Rd/IL-62/I-90/TOLLWAY exit, keep left at the fork to continue toward Algonquin Rd/IL-62.
Keep right at the fork follow signs for Algonquin Rd/IL-62.
Turn right at Algonquin Rd/IL-62

Iowa/Galesburg (from the west)

Head west on W Main St/US-150 toward Maple Ave.
Continue to follow US-150
Merge onto US-34 N via the ramp to Kewanee.
Take the exit onto I-74 W toward Moline-Rock Island.
Continue on I-80 W (signs for Davenport/I-80).
Take exit 4B to merge onto I-88 E/IL-92 E toward Sterling-Rock Falls.
Continue to follow I-88 E (partial toll road ).
Take the exit onto I-355 N (partial toll road).
Continue on I-290 W.
Take the IL-53/Algonquin Rd/IL-62/I-90/TOLLWAY exit
Keep left at the fork to continue toward Algonquin Rd/IL-62.

Local Attractions

Other area attractions include Woodfield Mall, offering world-class shopping and upscale dining. Woodfield has the finest collection of department stores and specialty shops in the Great Lakes region including Nordstrom, Macy's, Lord & Taylor, JCPenney, Sears and nearly 300 stores and restaurants. Another great area attraction, IKEA, is located just north of Woodfield Mall.

The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center offers free shuttle service to and from Woodfield Mall regularly throughout the day and evening. Please check with the hotel concierge to inquire about these services.
